Still in Cleveland, enjoying the local hiking before crossing the ocean

Today's hike went along the Chagrin River, including this beautiful site overlooking the river from the east.  Many people asked about the trip to Israel, and I will be excited to share this blog with many more pictures from the Golan Heights down to Masada.  Only five days to go!

Two weeks from tomorrow - on April 1, 2016, I will join other hikers from the Cleveland Hiking Club on a trip to Israel where we will go on hikes from the far north to deep into the Negev - on flat plains and up steep hills - learning the incredible history of the region and enjoying each other's comraderie.  I plan to post updates and pictures daily (perhaps every few days) to record this wonderful trip and to share it with friends.  This is my first blog - please forgive the amateur style that will surely be a feature of at least the earlier entries!
